Hello everyone! My name is Ariah Vasquez — I’m a dedicated fish keeper and aquatic life enthusiast based in Texas. What started over five years ago as a small, casual hobby quickly turned into one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

My first real introduction to fishkeeping was a single betta fish named Crush, who I purchased from PetSmart. At the time, he was in rough shape: dull-colored, timid, and kept in poor conditions. But something about him caught my heart. I brought him home, did a lot of research, and focused on creating a more natural, enriching environment.

Slowly but surely, Crush began to change. His colors deepened, his fins spread wide, and his personality blossomed. That transformation was powerful — not just for him, but for me.

Since then, I’ve expanded far beyond a single tank and I keep a variety of freshwater species. I've spent years learning about water chemistry, fish behavior, aquascaping, breeding, filtration, feeding, and many more aspects that go into fishkeeping — mostly through hands-on experience.

While I appreciate all forms of aquatic life, the Santa Isabel Angelfish has completely captured my heart. I’ve owned a pair of Santa Isabels for about three years now.
 

Through years of close attention and care, I’ve built a deep understanding of these fish — their ideal environment, temperament, breeding behavior, and more. The main goal of this website is to share that knowledge and help other aquarists discover and successfully care for this amazing species.
